Picton Airport

Picton Airport (CNT7), was built during WWII as the No. 31 Bombing and Gunnery School. My guess is its one of the best preserved BCATP airfields in Canada. It still has nearly all the original buildings in place, including sleeping huts for the men in training, the CO’s office, hangars, instruction buildings and storage buildings. The only thing missing is the air traffic control tower, which no longer seems to exist. I can’t imagine it would be a Bombing and Gunnery School for the BCATP without having a ATC tower. The airport is private property owned by Loch Sloy Holdings, if you want to get permission to visit the site, you can call them. The phone number is on the sign at the entrance.

I’m speculating here, but this structure judging by the pock-marks of bullets on it was used to align the guns on the aircraft, or was used for target practice by the recruits.
